About this tour

This combo includes the Advanced Open Water Certification and two dives in Cenotes after the training

To obtain the Advanced Open Water Certification, you must achieve five adventure dives, Underwater Navigation and Deep Dive are mandatory: however you can chose the other three adventure dives. There are more that ten different options, nevertheless we highly recommend the night dive, wreck dive, naturalist, Fish ID and Peak Performance Buoyancy.

Obtaining an Advanced Open Water Diver certification involves the following key steps:

1.- Complete theory lessons. Read a manual or complete online learning modules covering advanced diving concepts, including: dive planning, navigation, deep diving and environmental awareness.

2.- Select Specialty dives. Choose at least five adventure dives. As we said, deep dive and underwater navigation are mandatory but the other three adventure dives can be chosen based on your interests.

3.- Participate in Dives. Complete the required dives under the supervision of a certified instructor: One deep dive (below 18 meters/60 feet), one navigation dive and three additional specialty dives of your choice.

4.- Review and Debrief.  After each dive, participate in a debriefing session to review what you learned and any skills practiced.

5. Pass Assessments. Successfully complete any required skills assessments or quizzes related to the theory and practical components of the course.
