Once you are a Scuba Diver and would like to advanced to Open Water Diver, this is the course for you. An elemental Scuba Diving Certification

Completing the up grade to Open Water Diver will allow you to dive up to 18 m/ 60 ft and in conditions as good as, or better than, those in which you trained.

This is a short course and will take just one day to completion. To obtain this certification it is mandatory to read chapters 4 and 5 of the Open Water Manual, perform confined water skills 4 and 5, and complete 2 open water dives. The course will start with a knowledge review of chapters 4 and 5, followed by the performance of confined water skills, 2 open water dives, and the final test. Here is a brief description about the prerequisites and the order of the activities to be performed during the course:

1. Prerequisites: The minimum age require 10 years old (junior) or 15 years old (regular) and have completed a Scuba Diver course.
2. Complete Theory Sessions: Attend classroom session and complete the reading of the chapters 4 and 5. You can also do this online through the e-learning. Some of the topics reviewed are: understand dive theory, safety procedures, and equipment usage.
3. Confined Water Training: Participate in confined water sessions (pool or shallow water area) where you practice essential skills, such as: buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery and emergency procedures.
4. Open Water Dives: Complete two open water dives (3rd and 4th), where you’ll demonstrate your skills and knowledge in real diving conditions.
5. Pass Assessments: Successfully complete any required knowledge assessments and skill evaluations.
6. Receive Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive your Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive independently with a buddy.
